In these terms, “UK Volts”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to UK Volts Limited. “You”, “your” and
“customer” refer to the person, business or organisation purchasing goods or services from us. - Scope of These Terms
These terms apply to all goods and services supplied by UK Volts Limited, including but not
limited to:
EV charger supply and installation
Domestic electrical installation work
Commercial electrical installation work
Consumer unit upgrades or alterations
Electrical testing, inspection and certification
Remedial electrical works
Associated materials, labour and commissioning
Online orders, telephone orders, email orders and written quotations
By accepting a quotation, placing an order, making a payment, booking an installation or
allowing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Sale. - Quotations
Any quotation provided by UK Volts Limited is based on the information available to us at the
time. This may include customer descriptions, photographs, videos, survey information,
property details, cable route, charger location, meter position, parking arrangements and
access information.
A quotation may be revised if:
The information provided by the customer is inaccurate or incomplete
The site conditions differ from the information supplied
The cable route, charger location or installation requirements change
Additional electrical work is required
The existing electrical installation is unsafe, unsuitable or non-compliant
The installation falls outside the agreed standard installation criteria
Groundworks, specialist access, working at height or additional containment is required
DNO approval, supply upgrades or additional permissions are required
Material costs change before the quotation is accepted
Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued. - Standard Installation
A standard EV charger installation generally means a straightforward domestic installation
where the existing electrical supply is suitable and the agreed works can be completed without
significant additional requirements.
A standard installation may include:
Installation of the charger at the agreed location
A suitable cable route within the agreed standard distance
Connection to a suitable electrical supply
Appropriate electrical protection, where included in the quotation
Testing, commissioning and customer handover
Relevant certification and notification where applicable
A standard installation normally assumes:
The existing electrical installation is safe and suitable
There is adequate electrical capacity available
The charger is installed on the same property as the electrical supply
No trenching, groundworks or specialist equipment is required
No excessive working at height is required
No major consumer unit upgrade or remedial work is required unless included in the quote
The property has suitable earthing and bonding arrangements
If the installation does not meet the standard criteria, additional costs may apply. - Non-Standard and Additional Works
Additional works may be required where the installation is more complex than originally
expected.
This may include, but is not limited to:
Consumer unit replacement or alteration
Installation of a dedicated EV consumer unit
Surge protection
RCD or RCBO protection
Load management equipment
Main protective bonding
Earthing upgrades
Cable route changes
Additional containment
Groundworks or trenching
Drilling through difficult materials
Work at height
Remedial work to unsafe or non-compliant circuits
DNO applications or supply upgrade requirements
Any additional works will be discussed and quoted separately unless already included in the
agreed quotation. - Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring that:
All information provided to UK Volts Limited is accurate and complete
Clear access is available to the property, meter, consumer unit and work area
The proposed charger location is accessible and suitable
Parking is available for the installer where reasonably possible
The property owner, landlord, freeholder or management company has granted permission
where required
Any planning, leasehold, landlord or building permissions are obtained where required
Someone aged 18 or over is present where necessary
The work area is safe, clear and free from obstruction
Children, pets and vulnerable persons are kept away from the work area
Any known electrical issues are disclosed before work begins
We are not responsible for delays, additional costs or inability to complete works where these
responsibilities have not been met. - Electrical Safety and Suitability
All electrical work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with
applicable electrical safety requirements.
If we identify that the existing electrical installation is unsafe, unsuitable or requires additional
work, we may need to pause, postpone or cancel the installation until the issue is resolved.
We reserve the right not to connect or commission any installation where we believe it would be
unsafe, unlawful or non-compliant to do so.
Where remedial works are required, these will be quoted separately unless already included in
the original quotation. - DNO Notifications and Approvals
Some EV charger installations may require notification to, or approval from, the relevant
Distribution Network Operator, known as the DNO.
Where applicable, UK Volts Limited may submit DNO notifications or applications as part of the
installation process.
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
DNO processing times
Network capacity restrictions
Supply upgrade requirements
DNO conditions or refusal
Incorrect supply information
Issues with the existing electrical supply
If the DNO requires additional work, supply upgrades or restrictions before the installation can
proceed, this may affect the cost, scope and timescale of the installation. - Booking and Installation Dates
We will make reasonable efforts to attend on the agreed installation date and time. However,
installation dates may need to be changed due to circumstances outside our reasonable
control.
This may include:
Weather conditions
Supplier delays
Material shortages
Illness or installer availability
Emergency works
Access issues
DNO requirements
Incorrect customer information
Unsafe or unsuitable site conditions
Vehicle issues or traffic delays
We are not liable for losses arising from reasonable appointment changes, postponements or
unavoidable delays. - Payment Terms
Payment terms will be set out in the quotation, invoice, online checkout or written agreement.
UK Volts Limited may require:
Full payment upfront
A deposit before booking
Payment before materials are ordered
Payment of the balance before installation
Payment immediately upon completion
Stage payments for larger works
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all invoices are payable immediately upon issue.
We reserve the right to postpone, cancel or withhold completion documents where payment
has not been received. - Deposits and Upfront Payments
Deposits and upfront payments may be used to secure an installation date, order materials,
allocate labour and cover administration.
Where a customer cancels after materials have been ordered, appointments have been
reserved or work has begun, we may deduct reasonable costs from any refund.
This may include:
Materials already ordered
Special-order products
Labour already allocated
Survey or attendance costs
Administrative costs
Payment processing costs, where lawful and reasonable
Work already carried out - Ownership of Goods
All goods and materials supplied by UK Volts Limited remain the property of UK Volts Limited
until paid for in full.
This includes EV chargers, consumer units, protective devices, cable, accessories,
containment, fixings and associated materials.
Risk in goods passes to the customer once the goods are installed, delivered or left at the
property with the customer’s agreement. - Cancellation by the Customer
Consumer customers may have a legal right to cancel certain contracts within 14 days where
the order is made online, by telephone, by email or away from our premises.
If you ask us to begin work during the 14-day cancellation period, you agree that we may charge
you for any work completed up to the point of cancellation.
If the service has been fully completed with your agreement during the cancellation period, you
may lose the right to cancel.
We may also deduct reasonable costs for materials ordered, special-order items or works
already carried out.
To cancel, you must clearly notify us in writing by email, text message, WhatsApp or another
written method. - Cancellation by UK Volts Limited
We may cancel or postpone an order or installation where:
Payment has not been received
The customer provides inaccurate or incomplete information
Required permissions are not in place
The installation is unsafe or unsuitable
The customer is abusive, threatening or unreasonable
Materials are unavailable
The DNO refuses or delays approval
We cannot safely or lawfully complete the work
Events outside our reasonable control prevent completion
Where we cancel and no work has been carried out, we will refund payments made for works
not supplied, subject to any reasonable costs already incurred. - Refunds
Refunds will be handled in accordance with your statutory rights and these terms.
Where a refund is due, we may deduct reasonable costs for:
Work already completed
Materials already installed
Special-order items
Survey or attendance costs
Administration costs
Payment processing costs, where lawful and reasonable
Losses caused by inaccurate customer information or late cancellation
Refunds will usually be made using the same payment method originally used. - Manufacturer Warranties
EV chargers and other products may be supplied with a manufacturer warranty. Warranty
periods and conditions vary depending on the manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranties usually cover product faults but may not cover:
Incorrect use
Accidental damage
Damage caused by third parties
Wi-Fi, app or software issues outside our control
Changes made by others after installation
Damage caused by the existing electrical installation
Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
Cosmetic damage after installation
Normal wear and tear
Where a product fault arises, we may assist you in contacting the manufacturer, but the final
warranty decision may rest with the manufacturer. - Workmanship
UK Volts Limited is responsible for the quality of its own installation workmanship.
Our workmanship responsibility does not apply to:
Pre-existing electrical faults
Damage caused by others
Customer misuse
Alterations made by another contractor
Manufacturer product faults
Internet, Wi-Fi, mobile signal or app issues
Defects in the existing electrical installation
Normal wear and tear
Issues caused by third-party software, platforms or energy suppliers
Any concern about workmanship must be reported to us as soon as reasonably possible. - Smart Chargers, Apps and Connectivity
Many EV chargers rely on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile signal, manufacturer apps, energy supplier
tariffs, cloud servers or third-party platforms.
We are not responsible for:
Poor Wi-Fi signal
Weak mobile signal
Customer router settings
App outages
Manufacturer server issues
Energy supplier tariff issues
Software updates
Customer account setup problems
Third-party integrations
Changes made by the charger manufacturer or app provider
We will commission the charger where reasonably possible, but ongoing app, connectivity and
smart charging performance may depend on third-party systems outside our control. - Damage and Making Good
We will take reasonable care when carrying out work at your property.
Electrical installation work may require drilling, fixing, cable routing, lifting floorboards,
accessing cupboards, installing containment, working near walls or making openings.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, our quotation does not include full decorative making
good, painting, plastering, carpentry, flooring repairs, brickwork repairs or specialist
reinstatement.
We are not responsible for damage caused by:
Hidden services
Poor existing workmanship
Defective structures
Fragile surfaces
Pre-existing damage
Issues that could not reasonably have been identified before work began - Delays Outside Our Control
UK Volts Limited is not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is
caused by events outside our reasonable control.
This may include:
Severe weather
Illness
Accidents
Supplier delays
Material shortages
Power network issues
DNO delays
Road closures
Vehicle breakdown
Government restrictions
Industrial action
Emergency situations
Unexpected safety issues
Where this occurs, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and arrange a suitable
alternative. - Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by
negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to this, UK Volts Limited will not be liable for:
Loss of profit
Loss of business
Loss of opportunity
Loss of data
Indirect or consequential loss
Delays caused by third parties
Losses caused by inaccurate customer information
Issues caused by existing electrical defects
Third-party app, software, energy supplier or manufacturer issues
For business customers, our total liability will not exceed the total amount paid by the customer
for the relevant goods or services, unless otherwise required by law. - Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we
can investigate and try to resolve the issue.

Maintain business and compliance records - Certificates and Documentation
Where applicable, UK Volts Limited will provide relevant electrical certificates, installation
documents, commissioning records or notifications after completion.
Completion documents may be withheld until full payment has been received.
Certificates and documentation are based on the works carried out by UK Volts Limited and the
condition of the installation at the time of testing. - Subcontractors
UK Volts Limited may use suitably competent subcontractors or third-party specialists to carry out some or all of the works.
Where subcontractors are used, they are expected to work to appropriate professional, safety
and compliance standards. - Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time.
The terms that apply to your order will be those in force at the time your order is accepted,
unless a change is required by law. - Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless consumer law gives you
the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
